One thing almost all Texas towns have in common are water towers..some new..some old..some plain..some strange.

WOW, very impressive. I finally found someone with the same passion that I have for photographing water towers. I can appreciate and relate to the hundreds if not thousands of hours you have in this project. I live outside of Denver, CO and the past three I have driven thousands of miles chasing water towers in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, northern Oklahoma, northern Texas and northern New Mexico. I am currently planning my 2017 trip this deeper into Texas and Oklahoma. Your sure helps plan the itinerary. Once again "GREAT JOB".

The City of Rowlett is building a new tower that will be 214 feet and we are looking forward to that addition to our infrastructure.

San Benito has a water tower featuring a depiction of the late country and western singer "Freddy Fender" on the side as this was his hometown

I strongly recommend CEDAR HILL, TX on South border on Highway 67.

Great collection! I have been scouring the web to find some towers from years ago... our family used to road trip from Brownfield to Breckenridge on a regular basis, and one of the towns that we drove through had the Roadrunner and Wile E Coyote on the water tower(s). Would anyone have a clue what town that was and know if those towers are still painted that way? Please email me at hp_ranch@hotmail.com if you have any information that would help us find them. I love a person with a project; I think that these things are so important. I do hope that you have plans on getting this work into the future, donate a hard copy to your historical society. 100 years from now these towers will be gone but you have taken the trouble to document them. WELL DONE ( see my fire hydrant project ) james

I cannot beleive you do not have Bellville with the Brahma on it. My mom was an artist who designed the mascot for BHS back in the 60's. Would like to know if you ever post it

Very well done, Michael. I know what a challenge it can be to get to the right spot for the good angle and light that you consistently capture. I wonder if you ever get a see a water tower under construction? I finally came upon one a year ago on FM 1431 just west of I-35. The construction foreman said the cables were the first step in preparing to hang the shroud for painting. I didn't make it back to shoot it with the shroud in place. Michael, I enjoyed taking the "Texas Water Tower Tour". I've always enjoyed looking at water towers while on road trips. Ever heard the addage, "Water Towers are Gods' Doorknobs"? I think next time, I will look at them through my camera lens. There is one in particular that comes to mind here in Alabama. It is the Clanton water tower. It is an exact replica of a peach (although much bigger). Merredith

You do have a slew of these water towers. A friend of mine has started taking pictures of all the courthouses in Texas. Two hundred fifty-four, you say? No hill for a stepper!

wonderful! i shoot wtertowers also but hve never put them up! a few weeks ago returning to maine from toronto i shot the tower to know where it was i took a picture that i did use in padding... put i am just usually just drawn to them... and I LOVE the varitey of shapes and colors you have found! keep going! Michael, you are as crazy as a redbug! I swan. You must be sippin' that Shiner abit much. Tell ya what! Great project. I did a lot of growing up (and throwing up) in Texas. The water towers are unique and necessary. Lovely job. The gallery gets a vote from me, brother. Keep posting.
