A very odd year, this year's wildflower season. The hill country to the west of I35 was still under a severe drought and flowers were few and far between but rains east of Austin and San Antonio were stunning but the season started early.

This image was taken in Ellis County on April 1st, early for the area as the Ellis County Bluebonnet Festival wasn't to start for 2 weeks. But in the lower right...one bluebonnet has already gone to seed.
