1968 Pontiac Firebird...in 1968 the Feds mandated side marker lights, and Pontiac cleverly used the Firebird Symbol for its side marker lights. This is a wonderful example of a first generation Firebird. That distinctive Split Grille became an integral part of the bumper and is unmistakingly Pontiac styling that so captured the car-buying public's imagination during the Sixties. Only Chevy and Ford sold more ars for eight consecutive years from 1962 through 1970 model years. pontiac shed its stogy image as an old man's car to become Performance and style leader with such cars as the Big Bonnevilles, the Intermediate GTO's, and the Firebird. Let's Go Wide-Tracking!!!!!
