You have misidentified this car as a 1961. It is in fact a 1962, judging by the front grille and rear deck lamps. Please advise. RG

1961 Imperial Two Door Hardtop. The era of fins at Chrysler when Virgil Exner headed Chrysler's Design Studio. But by the '61 model year, fins were on there way out. The 1961 Imperial featured headlights suspended on chrome pedestals. In 1955, when Imperial became a separate marque at Chrysler to compete headon with GM's Cadillac and Ford's Lincoln luxuery models, the Imperial featured unique "microphone" taillamps suspended on chrome pedestals atop the rear fenders. Exner used that same idea on this 61 model, except this time, at the front of the car rather than the rear.
