Very cool wagon, I am wondering what the running gear came from, likely a 1/2 ton 1941-42 or 3/4 ton WW2 1943-44 Dodge, the front bumper appears to be from a 3/4 ton non-winch WC model. It is not 1 ton Power Wagon running gear, as it has a centered rear axle like the 1/2 or 3/4 ton Military Dodges. Is the gear ratio is 4.89 or 5.83, I am thinking 4.89s (1/2 ton) usually goes with the small lock ring wheels and 7.50x16inch tires and actually cruised at 55mph! The wheels may be date coded.
Too cool and very unusual!

This is a 1948 Dodge 1/2 ton 4x4 with body by J T Cantrell & Sons. It was delivered to the original owner in early 1949 just as you see it. It has 36,000 original miles and drove to Doheny from Oceanside at 55 mph. It shows its age, but everything is in very good shape and works fine. It will remain an unrestored original woodie.
