1961 Pontiac Ventura Hardtop. The famous split grille returns after a year's absence after its successful 1959 debut. Pontiac was considered a style and performance leader in the Sixties and took over third in sales from Plymouth bduring most of the decade. Only Chevrolet and Ford sold more cars. The first Grand Prix (1962), the first GTO (1964), and the first Firebird (1967) were all a part of Pontiac's Sixties success story.
