Gunsight Hood Ornament and "the bold "toothey" grille were famous Buick trademarks for the forties and fifties. Other famous Buick trademarks were ventiports (port holes) and a chrome sweepspear, first appearing on 1949 Buicks. From 1949 through 1954, four ventiports identified top of the line Roadmaster series, Three was reserved for Supers and Specials. Beginning in 1955 all series except Special had four. Buick lost its ventiports in 1958. But recently Buicks have regained their portholes. The new 2006 Buick Lecerne replacement for the LeSabre series sports this famous Buick trademark. It goes to show you that some things old can be new again.
