This is "Old George", a 1931 Model A Ford Roadster owned by Ed Johnson since 1952. Ed bought George for $75.00 and has driven him to school and work ( almost every day ) for 51 years. Most of George's life was as a "beater" ( nothing fancy, no pretty paint or chrome ) because with 5 children, there was not much extra to spend on the car. Between 1985 and 1989, Ed's wife convinced him that it was time to pay a little more attention to how George looked and he willingly spent his spare time doing a complete restoration in the family garage. This is what love for a car can do.
