This is a yearly all woodie car show held atr beautuful Doheny State Beach mentioned in one of the Beach Boys songs. Perfect place to have a woodies meet so well known for the sport of surfing.

I took over 170 photos. Unfortunately for the first time after shooting many many thousands of photos one of my CF cards got corrupted and basically I lost about 100 photos. Fortunately a reader recommended some recovery software (only after I reformatted the card and took about 20 new photos on that card. I was surprised to find out that I was able to recover all but around 25 of the photos. Below you will find approx. 145 photos from Doheny Wood. . My appologies to anyone that ordered prints in advance and your car does not show up here.

Nice shots of some classics! Hi Ken, Enjoyed your images. Could not find the Hispano Wood Car? If you could, with a tripod, close down your Camera F-stop & increase your exposure, your debth of field will greatly increase - front to rear detail. Reflectors (even aluminumized Sun Shade) could be used to pick up under carriage detail. Good Luck & thanks, Bob X-Kodak

Dear guest I am sorry I did not take photos of the cars you supposedly saw. Could you describe the cars that I did not take? As stated above I did loose about 25 photos. I also did not stay as long as I liked since I had to be back to shoot Seal Beach. On my way out I saw an awesome (2nd) Packard woodie but was unable to shoot it. If you saw only the "usual" then I suggest you go to Wavecrest in Encinitas in mid September. Approx. twice as many show up at that meet. 2 years ago I shot the one and only Hispano Suiza wood sided car ever made at Wavecrest. It is owned by Peter Mulins, chairman of the Petersen Automotive Museum in L.A. My good friend and fellow car photog Dave (Wacky Dave) Lindsay took over 500 shots at Doheny. I just logged on to your pics from Doheny and all I see are the same pics of woodies that are always taken. I was there and there were plenty of new cars and even a lot from out of state.
