Thanks for sharing these pictures. They're all beautiful. I owned a '51 sedan in 1957. Wish I had it back.

Hi Ken,
I live in North Carolina and am enjoying your website. I found a 49 Merc Coupe with plastic covers on original seats and original plastic on door arm rests with original door plastic covers in trunk. One repaint, Black - original everything. I am struggling with trading a 1955 C300 Chrysler, all original, but a #3 car whereas the Merc is a number solid #2 car. The Merc needs nothing whereas mine still require some attention. Love both cars, was hoping you may be able to give me a little insight into the 49 Merc.
Wish I could have both. Did the factory put clear plastic on the door panels? Are there matching number that I can compare or what can I look for as far as establishing originality. Your opinion on value - car vs car. You are my only hope for advice. Been searching Internet but haven't found any knowledgeable persons except for you. Was planning on going back to see the Merc Monday 2/22/2010. Anything you can say to help will be gratefully appreciated. Kindest regards, Rick.
