Hi, Sheena, now a Canon 20D with 100mm F2.8 lens, pretty impressive, you must really enjoy this combination, very good for portrait.

Jerry, I have many photos of this woman. I will show you later because now I am too busy to organize them into a decent format. I am glad you also feel something wrong about this "amputation look". I ,too, was reluctant to remove parts of her hands from the frame, but somehow, there is no other way to create this wide-screen effect which reminds me of a middle century lengendary beauty who was expecting her knight....:)

Hi Sheena. Nice meeting you today.

Well, I like the uncluttered layout where this young woman is shown with very nice and strong features that make her appear assertive. Becasue the contrast between light and dark is so strong this photo comes across almost like an illustration (I can see her as an heroine in a manga story) which to me is not bad nor good, just is.

The hand on the left is revealed at its midpoint so it can give the impression that she has a stump. I would prefer to see either some fingers of the hand completelly covered to avoid the amputation look. This is a good example of why it's often good to take many photos in succession while either one (or both) of you move to bring forth a variety of compositions that would give you more photos from which to select.
