Ōgaki-jō 大垣城

Ōgaki, Gifu-ken, Japan view map

An uncommon example of a four-storey donjon (the Japanese word for 'four' is synonymous with death, and thus unlucky), Ōgaki-jō was established in its present form in 1588. Reduced to ashes in World War II, it was reconstructed in 1959.
