Thanks Don! I'm glad you enjoy this photo. As far as knowing the right settings when taking a photo, it's best to learn the basics of photography first and then build upon that knowledge. Once your master getting correct exposure, you can move on to selecting the appropriate shutter and/or aperature to freeze action and control depth of field. Above all, HAVE FUN while doing it! And remember, if your photo makes you smile, that's all that matters.

Warren, your images are truly truly wonderful. Congratulations on a job well done. Being a budding photographer myself and no where in your league the question I have to ask is how do you know what settings you need when taking individual photos. Is it guess work through years of practise or what. To capture a simple image like you have with this boat and make the colours stand out is truly amazing. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.
