These are the magnificent and noisy Trumpeter Swans that overwinter at Magness Lake near Heber Springs, AR. They have been coming to the lake for about 13 years with increasing numbers each year. Currently (12-22-03) there were 55 counted. These images were taken with the Canon 10D and either the 100-400mm F4.5-5.6L lens or the 600mm F4L lens. The bright sun at a low angle made photographing the white swans a challenge.
