Newgrange (3000B.C.) - not only the oldest and largest Neolithic burial chamber in Europe but predating the Egyptian pyramids. The kidney shaped mound covers an area of over one acre and is surrounded by 97 kerbstones, some of which are richly decorated with megalithic art. The 62 foot long inner passage leads to a cruciform chamber with a corbelled roof.
The Hill of Tara was the Royal seat of Irelands Kings. 142 reigned in its name and the Kings of Tara became the Kings of all Ireland. On a clear day you can view 23 of Irelands 32 Counties
Older than the Egyptian pyramids
