Cliffs of Moher & The Burren - Gallery

This was a day tour we took out of Galway. The cliffs are a wonder to see. Over 600 feet of vertical granite wall with the Atlantic pounding away at the base. As you can see, some people want to be right at the edge - - - We preferred a much safer distance.

The Burren is an amazing expanse of limestone rock which has a vast array of plants and flowers growing in the small spaces between the rocks. There were more homes and animals grazing than I expected to see. The Poulnabrone Dolmen is a 5,000 burial tomb marker.

We also visited several old abbeys and ruins on this tour. Note the wild Valerian growing in the foreground of one photo and right from the stone wall in another. Great guide/driver on this tour.......
