Mountain Bluebirds are, I believe, one of the prettiest birds in N. America. I kinda freaked earlier in the day, when I saw one alongside the road and my sister Ellen, who was driving wouldn't stop. I was afraid I'd not get another chance on this trip to shoot one. Sure there was traffic and no place to pull over, but I tell you one damn thang, if I'd been driving, I'd have left the car in the road and gone running off across the meadow to try and shoot the bird! Late afternoon, we were driving back and spotted two Pronghorned Antelope grazing across another meadow. THEN it was ok to stop and run off trying to shoot photos! I think Ellen is a closet mammalian chauvanist, though in her defense; traffic was light, it was a betterplace to pull over, and we'd achieved the goals of the day by this time.
