Just in case you are interested, this whale is named "Tic-Tac-Toe" H509. We have known her since 1999 and have seen her every year in the St Lawrence. In 2007 she had her first calf so she was pregnant when you took this photo! This past year we saw her in our main research area of Mingan-Anticosti at the very beginning of the season and at the end of the season. The Mingan Island Cetacean Study (rorqual.com) is the curator of the St Lawrence Humpback Whale catalogue and of the North Atlantic Blue Whale catalogue. I have quickly looked at you Blue Whale photos and the picture would be good enough to identify the individual.
