The Ivory Tree Game Lodge was very well appointed and comfortable. The need for "mosquito netting" around each bed was a bit disconcerting to a city-boy like me, but was considered perfectly normal and standard fare in the veldt. The food was good and served outdoors around a huge fire pit, weather permitting. Each evening on the game drive, the Land Rover would find a nice spot for a "Sundowner." Nyiko would set up a small table and produce the pre-selected beverage of one's choice for a toast to the veldt and the end of another wonderful day. This respite followed the pre-drive high tea and preceded the post-drive dinner. We were well fed!
The grounds were well kept and all the usual "up-scale" hotel amenities were available. I would highly recommend Ivory Tree to anyone headed for the high veldt. It was delightful.
