the 300 shots were taken with the 75-300IS lens, which I have since sold. I am lucky to be relatively close to these birds most of the time, including the eagles. I live in victoria, Bc. Canada and live over looking a wildlife bird santuary and also am close to a salmon spawning river, very poor for eagles this year. I have only printed a couple of picts and am pleased with the results. High ISO is a blessing with the 20D..good luck with yours

Nice tight shot with good interesting action. If the 300mm is correct, you must have been fairly close to the birds. Eagle shots are also close and well composed. Are these actually full frame? Where were these taken?
I notice also that you are using ISO 800. Have you tried to print these or similar images taken at ISO 800? I just bought a 20D a few weeks ago as my first entry into digital. I would expect to at least have to use a noise reduction program to make an 8x10 or 11x14 print look good. The 20D does seem to do a bit better than I originally expected.
