This is one of the few belugas that sometimes stray from Labrador into Newfoundland waters. The beluga stayed in Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland in the summer of 2001. We searched for it 3 times, and finally found it when it unexpectedly headed towards us. It was quite inquisitive and stayed around the boat for around 2 hours.
