Tripod Astrophotography

Examples of astrophotography using a standard camera lens (normal or telephoto) mounted on a tripod. Exposures are limited to short duration due to the earth's rotation.

(The next level up from this is "piggy-back" photography - a camera with a standard or telephoto lens but riding on an equatorially mounted telescope or a tracking mount.)
