Background - Liberty Utilities (Entrada Del Oro Sewer) Corp has filed an application for a rate increase with the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) - and the ACC wants to hear from YOU.

The increase they are asking for is from the current $70/mo to $133/mo - a 90.5% increase!

What is important at this point, is that (1) EVERYONE is aware of the sewage rate increase for which Liberty Utilities has filed an application to the Arizona Corporation Commission.

And then (2) TAKE ACTION by submitting comments on the form here:

Action: The simplest and best step to take at this point is to use the form at this link:

Specify Docket Number as SW-04316A-16-0085 (you can cut-n-paste into their form).
(Earlier, there were two dockets but they have been consolidated.)

For Company Name, click on the down arrow and select Liberty Utilities (Entrada Del Oro Sewer) Corp.
(Or, just start to type Liberty ... and it will scroll down.

But, however you get there, be sure to select "Liberty Utilities (Entrada Del Oro Sewer) Corp.

Then, scroll down and select "Your position on the Docket" (For, Against Neutral). (I guess they had to ask.)

And, be sure to scroll down and Enter Your Opinion. Don't hesitate to pour out your heart. I for one would focus on the effect the increase will have on us personally, in terms of the increased monthly expense but also the impact on market values.

The ACC Staff Report to the Commission is due 7/27/2016. No decisions have been made at this point.

A neighbor is currently researching whether or not the community owner is still a more than 50% Liberty shareholder.
This may or may not be relevant at this point since Algonquin Power purchased Liberty Utilities in 2008.

We have contacted the Residential Utility Consumer Office ( https://ruco.az.gov/ ) that intervenes on citizens' behalf.
They will analyze the Docket and provide guidance next week.
