Rare Bear: officially the fastest piston-powered aircraft in the world. Lyle Shelton's Grumman F8F Bearcat not only captured the 3km record at 528.329 mph, but also holds the 3000 meter (9,842 feet) Time to Climb record at 91.9 seconds. And if all that was not enough, Rare Bear is a nine-time Reno Unlimited Champion. In less than 30 days Rare Bear, flow by John Penny, will be back at Reno to do battle again. Will she break the streak of five-time consecutive Championship winner Dago Red?
