Cloud Dancer

Jimmy Leeward has been racing airplanes more then most. He is a regular at Reno in his P-51D Cloud Dancer. Most people don’t know that Cloud Dancer is a movie star having stared in the 1980 production with the same name. Even less know that Jimmy flew the plane in the movie; I guess that makes him a star too. Jimmy does little dancing as he rounds the pylons much to the awe of the spectators. Known for his low flying, Jimmy may not be at the front of the pack, but he is certainly one to watch.

I remember this plane as the Galloping Ghost. It was parked outside at the hanger that Henry Ford built for his own use at Lansing, Illinois It was in the late 40s and I rode my bicycle to admire this beautiful P-51. Good luck!
