Hit the dirt !

Four plovers suddenly went into a defensive position, hugging the ground in order to avoid being seen. While the plovers detected danger we could not see a predator.



They remained frozen on the ground, finally glancing skyward to see if the danger was gone. They eventually resumed foraging along the beach.
