Nice shot Penny. I recently photographer a male R-w Blackbird with an identical look; i.e head totally bald. I too thought that there was something other than natural molting going on as I had never seen one quite like it.

Never in my life have I seen one of our cardinals sport a vulture-like head when molting. I wonder if something else is going on with this little fella?
