Ultimate fighting. No holds barred.

While checking the river for early migrants my attention was drawn to the nearby bushes. Two mallards were thrashing about under the branches. The fight moved out onto the snowy riverbank and continued for several minutes.



At times it appeared as if they were locked together.



A brief pause in the battle before they continued the fight back under the bushes. Eventually one of the combatants headed for the river.
