There sure wasn't much water in this stream but the gadwall and several mallards were sharing the space. The gadwall is an unusual visitor for this time of year. According to the checklist of birds for the Ottawa-Gatineau district the gadwall is "Very Rare or Not Normally Present" in the winter.

That's a super find Penny. Nice shot too. I don't think I've ever seen a Gadwall
