Ring-billed gull

Ottawa, Ontario

These gulls are always looking for an easy meal. A group of mallards were diving in a pond in their search for food, causing this water bug to swim to the surface. This gull, one of several near the mallards, was only too happy to steal it and take it to the shore to eat.
