Nokia N86 Test Shots

August 5, 2009: N86 is one of Nokia's latest in the Nseries. It was released in early 2009, just in time i'm on the market for a smarter phone. Wi-fi, GPS, AMOLED screen, a good operating system running on a fast dedicated processor, standard audio jack, fm transmitter and with good ergonomics are my priority needs (of course next to call and text capabilities):-) In my hand, this gadget is proving its power. The technology imbued to this device is impressive but here’s one feature that need be tested, its 8-Megapixel built-in camera. For over a week now i still have to press the shutter button for the second time (the first one was at the store) so i brought this sexy (yet solid) device for a shoot around town to test its imaging performance.

My impression (on imaging): N86 is a powerful mobile phone with a built-in camera and not the other way around. Its 8MP imaging, a variable aperture Carl Zeiss lens and the addition of various settings like Exposure Compensation (the one control i wished for my Trusty N70 3 years ago), this moble phone can deliver great images. Although im not thinking of leaving my SLR or a pocket cam in the house but if i will, this phone can save my day. If youre serious with the settings that are buried deep in the menu, it needs few seconds before you can take the first shot. You may lost some but not all photo opportunities.
