Common Pochards are medium-sized diving ducks. They breed in Europe and Asia and migrate to warmer regions, including the Philippines, for the winter.
(This is a snapshot last December, the bird is quite elusive. I bumped this "crappy" photo lately and sent it to bird experts for identification. I was surprised to find out that it’s the first recorded sighting for Negros Island)
