A thirty minute trip southwest of Hiroshima, Miyajima is regarded as one of the Nihon Sankei (the three most beautiful places in Japan), along with Amanohashidate and Matsushima near Sendai.
It didn't disappoint. And after seeing the very moving exhibits at Hiroshima, Miyajima was made even more poignant.
