Supposedly a "reflection" of the heavenly bridge from which the two creator kami, Izanagi and Izanami, dipped their jewelled spear into the froth of nothingness and stirred, creating the islands of Japan. Also acclaimed as one of the top three most scenic sites in Japan (Nihon Sankei).
