The Berlin-Rome Car

Meant to achieve a new record over the distance between Berlin and Rome in 1939 it was capable of a maximum speed of 160 km/h. Essentially it is a streamlined VW Beetle. The record attempt never took place, WWII got in the way. The car ended up as the private play thing for a certain Ferdinand Porsche- thus the black out headlight covers which were mandatory for all cars during the war

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Wow, amazing and beautiful car, quite modern for 1939. I wonder what it is worth today?
