In 2004 the entire lighthouse was re-floated and moved to its present location where it was turned into a museum. The staircase to the right had to be added because in the old days the keepers would climb a simple ladder on the left leg. The spiral staircase had to be added to comply with the fire code for public buildings
Too bad, I got there when the tower was clad in scaffolding to redo the wooden window frames.
