This plane was home-built in the GDR in order to fly across the inner German Border. It was built in pieces not larger than 4 metres in length (in order to hide and transport them). Many of the mechanical pieces such as engines and landing gear were taken from MZ motorcycles (see one next to it).
Unfortunately, the proposed flight never took place as the pilot along with his family were arrested by secret police. They were tried for "attempted unlawful border crossing", sentenced to lenghty prison terms- but released and deported after Austrian diplomats intervened. Later it was established that this plane would have been flight-worthy indeed.
