The main deck (with round portholes)contains a sickbay, galley, a saloon and living quarters for a crew of six for up to two weeks. Above that, the main bridge, chart room and radio room. The Essberger-class ships were meant to act as command and relay ships in mass casualty missions, coordinating smaller lifeboats,helicopters and passing merchant marine. The open top-deck sports another bridge-captains prefered this one for the increased sight often necessary in operations.
