Lockheed L-1049 Super Constellation (1 of 4)

This plane was leased from Lufthansa by the government to bring chancellor Adenauer to Moscow where he negotiated the return of the last POWs. Back in 1955 Germany did not have an airforce much less a military transport command

Great shot and interesting story. I wonder, though - there was a West German government since what, late fourties? They did not have government planes at all?
