The entire structure sits on a huge turntable which allows for the hangar to be turned according to wind direction. Even slight gusts could cause considerable damage if the wind hit the ship while being pulled from the hangar. A complete rotation took 60 minutes- the hangar was 200 metres long and 70 metres wide, weighting approx. 4600 metric tons.
