Software is available to program the phone yourself. The cameras are accessible and can be custom programmed to process the images on the phone.
It's ok :) I was surprised myself at first - but remember the sensor is 3MP, although probably ugly at 100% view, it's good enough when scaled down to the size of pic above. The lens on the phone is OK - and what matters is that the eyepiece and telescope are both very sharp to start with.
