Loggerhead Shrike Fledgling Snatches a Butterfly Away From The Adult

Usually, a Loggerhead Shrike will impale a Butterfly for a day or two to get rid of the toxins because they can be poisonous! In this case when the adult landed on the branch with the Butterfly the fledgling tried to take it away from the adult and succeeded for awhile. Finally, the adult was able to pull it away from its fledgling only leaving it with a small part of the Butterfly wing!
