Winter Woman practices yoga

The woman pictured in this gallery is 72 years old and has been practicing yoga for only one year. But she asked that I encourage my viewers not to compare themselves with her. As she said, yoga is all about process with each practitioner finding his or her own perfection of technique. The intention is not to see how far you can stretch, but to allow the poses to help you deepen your capacity to meditate. It is as much a spiritual practice as a physical one.

I have been waiting eagerly for this album......Hard to keep my sentiments brief....I compare my own yoga efforts at the gym this morning compared to what this remarkable woman is achieving.......She is a role model, somebody to aspire to, I will certainly work harder,concentrate more on my mind. As I noted in an individual photograph comment, I find these images - light, color, pose - to have a strong feel of the Orient. As if the figure is also an exponent of the Tai chi chuan - at least the non-martial side of Tai Chi. (There seems to be a great flow of chi in this series.) Yoga woman indeed. Well done, Patricia.
