In march/april 2015 we made a three weeks birding trip to the Kingdom of Bhutan.
We want to thank Norbu of Across Bhutan for organizing this tour http://www.bhutanbirding.com/
We started our journey in Paro, in the western part of the country, and ended in Samdrup Jongkhar in the south-east at the border of Bhutan and India (Assam).
We were accompanied on this trip by our guide Rinchen Tshering and Phurba Dorjie, our driver.
Rinchen was very helpful in finding the birds and succeeded in showing us most of the local specialaties.
Among them the ibisbill, blood pheasant, satyr tragopan, himalayan monal, rufous-necked hornbill and many others.
Our driver Phurba did a great job in driving us carefull along the many curves on the sometimes very narrow roads.
Nine out of twentytwo nights we camped and were accompanied bij a crew of 3 young men who cared for the tents and meals.
Many thanks to Sangay, Norbu and Sonam for their support.
