Brazos Bend State Park

The Loggerhead Shrike is sometimes called the "Butcher bird" because he hangs his prey on thorns or twigs to keep before eating. This snake looks like it has a twig stuck through it and is looks dried up at one end. This Shrike is having the snake popsicle for lunch!
