Dear Joshua and Edie - I just stumbled upon this and want to include my sincere and heart felt condolences in this fine tribute to Will. I always enjoyed his varied and excellent images and his comments. I read his obituary and although I never met him in person, I can tell his life was an important and rich one. He will definitely be remembered and missed.

To Charles Cook--This is Will's wife Edie. Thank you so much for your sincere condolences regarding his death I'm sorry I did not know about your post until recently and heard from my nephew, Joshua Bowie that you have made sure Will's photographs stay on Pbase until October 2016. This is very kind of you. With Josh's help, we plan to continue to make sure Will's photographs available for viewing.
Pbase was so important to Will. He was in awe of the photographs he saw on this site, and used the talents of all his Pbase friends to inspire himself to create photographs that represented his perspective on a variety of subjects.
I am so happy to hear that Will was included in Logan's memorial to lost classmates. I plan to remain in our home in Vermont. If you get up this way, please look me up. Sincerely, Edie M. Hoskins

So sorry to hear of Will's passing. We were friends from grade school through high school. We earned our Eagle Scout together. The Logan High School Class of 1965 lost track of Will and only recently learned of his death. He was included in our memorial to lost classmates this last weekend. He will be missed. I am so saddened by this news. I really looked forward to seeing Will's photographs and always loved it when he commented on my photos. I am truly sorry for your loss. He will be missed by all of us.

To all of Will's pbase.friends--This is his Wife Edie. Will and I were married for 38 years and I don't know how I can go on without him. I want you all to know that Will had deep affection for you, and always called you his PBase buddies and friends. He loved showing me your photographs and giving me background on each of you. My heart is broken, but he is all around me because of his photographs. I can't say any more at this time, but after awhile I will get on pbase and see what you all are doing--Please remember that Will respected all of your talents and sincere friendships. Be at peace! Oh my gosh! I'm truly devastated by the news! I was really hoping to get to meet Will this year when he ventured to or from MD.

I am shocked and saddened by this news. Will and I have commented on each others photos for years. I always enjoyed seeing his photography and he was very supportive of my work. He was a good friend. My sincere condolences to his loved ones. He will be missed by the PBase community.

We're not entirely sure. It appears to have been a major heart attack. He wanted his body donated to science and we are hoping that while studying him, they might discover the true cause. But in order for him to be donated, they could not do a proper autopsy.

(Joshua, Will's Nephew) I'm posting this for all of the many people that have viewed his photos. His lessons in photography have turned me into the photographer I am today, but not only that, he has taught me so much about life and I will miss that most. I love you, Hol Whal.
