Chickadees, Titmice, Bushtits, Kinglets, Gnatcatchers

These are small birds of twigwork and foliage. Chickadees often move about in mixed-species flocks. Bushtits, flitting from site to site in small groups of their own kind, are so small and drab that they don't look like worthy photo objects, but close up and in the right light they make fine pictures. Kinglets, more colorful, tend to stay solitary or in pairs, as do the gnatcatchers in their tones of gray, black and white.
