.... or should I specify?..... a penguin chick between my tripod's legs?
Up to the moment a friend of mine took this picture of me, I had not realized that there was
a penguin chick in between the legs of my tripod. He apparently got in there while I was very
distracted photographing their colony. Even after I acknowledged its presence, he remained
very calmed and appeared as if the legs of the tripod, and possibly my presence, brought him
a sense of security (I even wondered if the color of my clothing, all black-almost same as his-
appeared to allow him to identify me with them?), but it is well known, and I have experienced
this first hand in many instances, that they are not afraid of people and many times they approach
them for curiosity and other times to drive them away.
