They were actually butter lamps in a tiny room in the back of a small monastery in Tibet. I walked into the room and noticed there was a monk reading by the lamps, and a huge Buddha statue sitting in the dark. None of us talked. I stood by the fire and watched for a long while. They were dancing, standing, sitting, jumpping.... and telling lots of things: death and reborn, temptation and depression, torture and comfort, etc.. Was that something Buddha was trying to show? Or was that something coming from one's own heart?

这组照片摄于西藏山南的某个很小的小庙的一个佛堂. 我刚走进去的时候几乎是漆黑一片, 只有这一盆信徒供奉的常年不熄的酥油灯幽幽的亮在那里. 在里面站了一会后才发现灯后还有一个喇嘛坐在地上头也不抬的在看书. 我站在那里对着灯发了好久的呆. 谁也没说话. 佛堂里除了我们就只剩下后面靠墙一尊巨大的佛的塑像在冷冷的注视着凡尘, 漠不关心. 火苗或跳或坐摇曳不定, 姿态万千, 如死亡与重生, 渴望与压抑, 苦难与享受....诉说着这苦多乐少的人生百态. 是佛在昭示什么吗? 还是人心的折射呢?
