40 years ago and what a party it was. Coahilla y Zacatecas Railroad Yard in
Saltillo COAH Mexico. I was getting ready to go sleep in my van when I heard knocking
on my window. Some of the railroad workers saw me photographing during the day
and they invited me to share in their Xmas Eve feast that was held in an old wooden box car.
They did not speak any English and I hardly did too! (That's a joke) It did not matter that my Spanish
consisted of 3 or 4 words. The food was delicious and the booze was nonstop.
These Mexicans opened their hospitality to a guy who was alone and far from home that night
and that my friends is the true meaning of Christmas. For some reason my camera
was out of focus the next morning until I realized it was fine and it was I who saw things in a blur.
Happy holidays and may you have the good fortune to end up getting drunk in old boxcar tonight.
